Cardinal Shower Enclosures is pleased to announce that our Cardinal Rain Heavy Glass has received the ADEX Platinum Award for Design Excellence, and our Cardinal Frost Heavy Glass has received the Gold Award for Design Excellence. In 2011 there was an industry shortage of low-iron patterned glass, Building on our cast glass technology, we have developed a series of new patterns of super-clear low-iron glass. With this new method of creating the patterns, we can not only provide the standard 3/8" super-clear low-iron glass, but can also provide these patterns in the previously unavailable 1/2" clear and low-iron glass, as well as in such colors as smoke, bronze, light blue and light green. The ADEX awards reinforce our position as industry leader and encourage us to keep innovating new and exciting products for the shower enclosure industry.
Due to a shortage of the Krystal patterned glass (made from the super-clear low-iron glass), we've developed our own line of patterns. Our cast glass artist has developed a new technique for creating these low-relief patterns. Best of all, they can be made with any of our glass types, including our Starphire (optically-clear low-iron glass) in 1/4", 3/8" or 1/2" thickness, or any of our other glass colors.

Shelton, CT, March 22, 2011 — ARCAT, a major publisher of building product information has developed and posted on their site, data rich AutoDesk® Revit® BIM objects for Cardinal Shower Enclosures. Anyone can use these objects at no charge.
In addition to creating accurate graphics, ARCAT and Cardinal have added appropriate product data to each object, saving architects and engineers a significant amount of time doing data entry and product research. All of Cardinal’s objects, graphics and content, are uniform and modifiable for ease of use. In addition to product information, ARCAT has embedded links in the objects to Cardinal’s CSI 3-Part specs.
ARCAT & Cardinal Shower Enclosures uphold the belief that high quality graphics are only the tip of the building information modeling iceberg, and it is the limitless amount of information held within the model that is driving the AEC community to adopt parametric software platforms such as Revit.

Krystal Patterns Out of Stock
Due to manufacturing issues by our supplier we are temporarily out of stock on the following 3/8" Krystal glass patterns:
We will post here when these patterns are once again in stock.
Check out our new three minute corporate overview video. If your bandwidth supports it, be sure to view it in high-def. We've come a long way since we launched Cardinal Shower Enclosures in 1993. Thank you to all our customers and employees for helping us grow to where we are today.
Dear Customer,
We at Cardinal value our relationship with our customers and suppliers and consider it more of a partnership. With this being said, we wanted to keep you up to date with the current economic environment our industry is facing. The Chamber of Commerce and the International Trade Commission (ITC) received petitions from U.S. aluminum extruders and the United Steel Workers Union saying that the Chinese extruders have had an unfair advantage over the past few years and sought a countervailing and anti-dumping tax or tariff to be applied to these Chinese imports. As you might know, the majority of shower door manufacturers in this country buy a large percentage, if not all of their aluminum from China. On Aug. 31st, 2010, what was estimated to be an 8 – 10% tariff on the opening findings of the investigation turned into a 138% tariff on these goods coming from China, effective immediately. The anti-dumping case is set to take place this winter where more tariffs could be added.
We want you to know that Cardinal is positioned very well in this situation. We have always dual sourced our aluminum from both domestic and Asian extruders. With this tariff now in place on the Chinese products, we will now be purchasing 100% domestic which is more expensive. We will be contacting our customers with a letter with specifics as to our response to this tariff. We want you to be aware that if the ITC and Chamber of Commerce are successful in their mission, more price increases are sure to happen. Please keep this in mind when bidding out future projects, especially if you are asked to hold a price for an extended length of time. It is literally impossible to say what Commerce and the ITC will impose next.
If you have any questions regarding the tariff and our response, please contact your local Cardinal Shower Enclosures office.
Thank you for your business,

Cardinal Shower Enclosures
To our valued customers,
We would like to start off by thanking you for the opportunity to earn your business. We at Cardinal are always striving to provide you with the combination of products, service and pricing that will give you the competitive edge in the marketplace.
With all eyes on the economy these days, I am sure you have heard of the increases that the float glass producers have handed out effective Aug. 23rd. Unfortunately the increase was too much for us to absorb without passing some of it on. In efforts to minimize the effect on you the customer, we will be adding an additional 7% on to our current surcharge, effective Sept. 1, 2010. We know this is an untimely increase with all things considered and appreciate your business and understanding.
Sincerely,
Greg Abrams
